We are born to dance…

After 4 years of break Dancetination is back in business and what a come back this was! Dancetination: Next Step was all about greek mythology, clash of the gods and titans and all of it in a venue called "Hala Arena" and its motto: we are born to dance. It just couldn’t go wrong! Epic journey with mindblowing sounds and breathtaking artistic show.

Our lives are a little bit of good luck and a little bit of bad luck. Unfortunately the second one has showed itself on our way to Poznań. Technical issues on the railway track and we arrived to the Arena in the middle of Hardwell’s set. I’m a 100% trance lover and house ain’t moving me the way trance does. Altough Hardwell did a pretty good job warming me up before the headliners.

At midnight we were experiencing a breathtaking show. I felt like in a modern theatre. LED screens were showing a video of actors dancing mixed with pictures of ancient sculptures and gladiators. From behind the stage dancers were coming out dressed like gladiators in long dark coats with hoods on, carring lights. All of this together with adequate music made for an amazing impression – totally different with all the other shows I’ve experienced! Hands down for the organisers for compiling an EDM event with theatre. Also each artist entrance was preceded with a special intro containing each time a different story about ancient gods and titans.

Right after the midnight show it was time for the headliners. The first one was Aly & Fila. He started with Cosmic Gate’s "Be Your sound". Honestly I’m not a big fan of this one, but heard it live in a big hall – just WOW! Fantastic choice for the start. Other tracks weren’t worse! Including classics like Armin’s "Shivers", Reflekt feat. Delline Bass’ "Need To Feel Love" and even PPK’s "Resurection". One of the best tracks of 2011 "We Control The Sunlight" was definitely the highlight of this set, crowd singing along is always something special. I must admit I’ve heard better sets by Fadi, but it still was the good old Aly & Fila sound.

Fadi got replaced behind the decks by the legend: Marco V. His set was much stronger than the one before, actually more of the music I like. The track list contained a lot of Marco’s own tracks including bangers like "Unprepared" or "False Light". He was also the third DJ in a row to play Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan’s "Silence". I guess I was already too excited for the next DJ to enjoy this set as much as I’d want to. But it still was a good one!

And there he was, my teenage years music hero: Kai Tracid. I just can’t be fully objective with this guy, he’s the only DJ who takes me on a new high with the music he’s playing. Beautiful sounds of his own "Too Many Times", "4 Just 1 Day", "Life Is Too Short" and other mindblowers as Hennes & Cold’s "The Second Trip (DJ Scot Project Remix)" or Derb’s "Derb" made that 75 minutes pass in a blink of an eye. If only Kai would do a few hours long set *dreams on*. My happiness hormone level got even more high as finally I had the chance to have a small chat with my hero and click a picture.

Exactly when I thought the party is over for me I heard the sounds of John ’00′ Fleming. As much as I was tired after the long trip and the sets played before, music just took control over my body and the man was smiling all the time what was making me rocking even harder. I am the living proof of this saying: "The best kind of trance is not what makes you move, but what truly keeps you in a state of trance in which you do not realize you are moving at all". In opinion of my friends and mine this was the best set of this party.

Unfortunately the set of Arctic Moon I was listening sitting on the tribunes, but from what I heard the power was there. Too bad he played only for 40 minutes, way too short for a talent like his.

The organizers were 100% correct with the motto: "We are born to dance". I am definitely born to dance! Another great party to remember, new people met, friends seen and hugged and music enjoyed to the limits. Hands down for MSM Events for bringing Dancetination back to life. I surely ain’t gonna miss the next edition!
