Super8 & Tab – Empire

Super8 & Tab – Empire

Well, first let me say, that I have never been some kind of a huge fan of Super8 & Tab, but this album tells me, it was a great mistake. I mean, I’ve heard some of there pieces (like "Elektra", "Suru"), and I can say that I really liked it, but it was kind of strange in those times for me… haven’t been a real trance fan back then!

It has come to my attention this year, that this duo is creating their debut album. My expectations about this, were firstly "not that big", but when I found the track list to this new piece, I knew… this album is going to be something, already seen in the past, but yet very rare. Many vocals included on this album, good news for me.

And finally, there I was, sitting in school, a normal day it would seem. I was pretty bored (as always in school), but in my head, I was all like "OMG, Empire’s out today!!!"

When I finally pressed play, I was amazed!! Each track on this album, has it’s own speciality. Maybe it’s the voice of the featured lot, or the melody, the beat, or the feel it brings. Example of this, titled "Black Is The New Yellow", this track features Anton Sonin, and it has got everything, that a trance tune needs. Great proggy beat, and an uplifty melody and vocals all mixed together. Equals total euphoria! Followed by the very "bed timey" and dreamy "My Enemy" featuring Julie Thompson, that just makes you slow down, enjoy the melody combined with an angelic voice, and just fall into your deepest dreams.

Also Jan Burton surely did his best on vocals in the track called "Mercy". Trust me, when listening to this one, you will really fall to your knees and beg for mercy, ‘cuz of the never-ending goosebumps it’ll bring. Don’t even have to write about "Empire" or "Irufushi", people are already telling me, that these two tracks, are the complet TOP of this year.

But most of all. "Free Love" has written in my heart like no other track on this album. Very special and rare tune. Slow, hugely emotional, and great for those of you out there, that just love to sit back and watch the stars on some warm summer evening. I’ll seriously dance to this song on the day I’ll be getting married to some "lucky" girl. Oh, Jan Burton’s voice did a mesmerising job with this track.

Many people said, that this album is going to be something very poppy and that Jan Burton’s voice will only ruin every track he’s featured on. Let me tell you, these people must be deaf. Melodies, beats, Jan’s voice. Everything just goes so well together. Super8 & Tab have surely created something special this time…

Seriously, this whole album, is like a gate to "before – heaven" for me. Many vocals, both very proggy and uplifty. This album will seriously match Leon Bolier’sPhantasma‘ this year.
