Mike Mikhjian – Again & Again EP
Pin ItYou could find him exchanging pleasantries on various electronic dance music forums, but this 19-year-old’s melodic wizardry has an exceptionally brilliant approach towards music.
In his unveiling EP on Intuition Deep, Mike Mikhjian delivers two A-class summer soothers – "Again & Again" and "Whispers In The Air", where "Again & Again" was featured in Menno De Jong’s recent compilation, ‘Global Gathering – Belarus ’09‘.
"Again & Again"
"Again & Again" has a magical feel in its slow harmonic stabs and roomy vocals that have been further intensified with vocodes. The listening gratification peaks at the magical use of synths that swivel at certain breaks (refer 2:13th minute). The tune flutters like a butterfly on your ears, especially with the magical use of vocals.
"Whispers In The Air"
For our sound-hungry ears, Mikhjian produces an excellent choppy vocal affair with dark-ish undertones. For once, you would totally take this up for Coldharbour material! The head of the tune is richly toppled with a hovering bass line that sees a break somewhere near 3:06 mark and we notice a synth supporting the break down with subtle usage of shredded vocals. Truly a class for dark room listening!
Conclusion
With the 2-tune imprint and an album feature, Mikhjian has already pushed our curiosity levels to stratosphere, and we would be looking out for more from his sound bags!
