Pin ItAh the good old ’90s, how we miss them. The pounding, electrifying euphoria filled trance, there’s simply not enough of it these days.
If you’re like me and you’re finding it increasingly hard to fill the void created by modern progressive trance, then look no further. Aerian (real name Menno Meijer), a new name to hit the scene, has created something wonderful that takes those old hearts back to the days when trance wasn’t a cheese filled genre, but one full of meaningful heart-felt music.
Original Mix
"Reach" with its emotional melody is a track that will pull at your heart strings combining with a banging fast pace will get the adrenaline rushing through your veins. There’s no clicky beats or plucked melodies. This tune is a full on anthem trance taking us back to what it was back in its heyday and is also my personal favourite of the three.

Trance Arts Remix
Trance Arts takes a slightly more progressive approach. The melody has been re-worked into a slower, darker sound. Perhaps this is more for people who prefer the trance of today. To me there are obvious house influences, but don’t get me wrong, it’s still trance.

Icone Remix
The more chilled of the three, with only a few noticeable, yet subtle changes to the original. The most noticeable difference being the break down, a lovely little piano piece has been added that fits perfectly! Icone’s remix is far from ambient, but if you’re not quite up for that ‘in the club’ feeling but do want the emotion of trance then whack this on, you won’t be disappointed.

Verdict
I give these tracks a huge thumbs up. If you want to buy these tracks (you’d be a fool if you didn’t) then you’ll have to do so via Aerian Records’ own website (link at the right of the page). They’re keen not to let the big boys take over and ruin independent websites which I’m sure you’ll all agree is a fantastic thing to do. So head over there May 17th and grab these massive tunes!
