7 Skies – Caffeine
Sunday, February 21, 2010
After going solo, David Boldini retains his 7 Skies alias and creates an awakening effect with his latest ear-tickler, "Caffeine". This Italian is already known for some huge remixes of "Epic", "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven" and the recent, "Central Park". This time, he unveils his production massive in a chopped vocal scorcher. To create an effect of Anjunabeats-meets-Armada effect, Englishman Genix lends a thriving remix here.
Original Mix
Now, we know there are too many chopped vocals out there, which don’t seemingly catch everyone’s attention. But "Caffeine", with its emotional vocal builds and a pumping bass line manages to touch our ears at the right spot. This semi-vocal stormer flusters a lot of emotions through its vocals and synth-drops that leave lasting impressions in our minds – with almost chilled-out acoustics and very up-on-the melody progressions. For once, you’d feel the real deal lies in its vocals. A qualitatively fantastic job by David here!
Genix Remix
So we feel a bit fuzzy here. The Genix Remix is light and flaunts an intelligent riffy bass line, vocals remain the same though. The tune thrives on a pad-led atmosphere and has a slightly chilly feel to it. Subtle, non-noisy and tight – this remix just adds up variety!
Conclusion
Is it melodic statement done in David’s true style? That yes, he is here, as ‘7 Skies‘ solo style? Much as "Caffeine" has impressed us, we cannot wait to see what’s gonna blossom in future in his sound garden!
