Tritonal – Piercing The Quiet
Pin ItEver since I started listening to trance, Tritonal was one of the first duos I discovered a few years ago. Their productions blew me away back then, and they still blow me away even now. These guys can seriously create some breath taking trance and it is no suprise that they are my most favorited DJs & producers today, the ultimate #1 in my raking, their sound is just so unique!
Today, I’ve been able to hear preview of every track on their new album. Lately, I thought that guys from Tritonal are a bit too focussed on releasing their new album, and I became a bit sceptic with this new coming piece. Everyone has been talking about this album for quite some time now, and my experience is, that if people talk about it a lot, it will not be as good as everyone’s expectations. Well, this time, I’m proud to say that this experience has proven to be wrong.
David Reed and Chad Cisneros (Tritonal) spent 2 years making this album, and I can really say that it surely wasn’t a loss of time. The album carries the typical, sweet sound of Tritonal. Your thoughts now are probably like. "Nothing new, huh? Too bad." Well, think twice. The guys from Tritonal have developed a truly beautiful and unique sound, and yes, it can be recognized, but it always carries a chance to suprise you. It’s amazing, you can never really guess what to expect from these guys. It can be a nice, slow, chillout track for your sensitive moments, or it can be a tech-trance bomb, or a beautiful lifting melody in a stunning uplifting track.
For you who love vocal tracks, this album is definitely a must-buy. Tritonal has been known for collaborating with lots of vocalists, especially, Cristina Soto. And yes, it is Cristina who has the most vocal features on this album. Some Tritonal fans even dare to claim that Cristina has the most beautiful voice, in today’s world of trance. On other tracks, vocals duties are given to vocalists like Jeza, Fisher, Meredith Call and others.
Even though I’m one of those people who are in love with Cristina’s beauty and her voice too of course, I must say that non-vocal tracks have suprised me pretty much this time around! They are sure much better than expected, and I’d even dare to say that they are even better than most of the vocal tracks in this album. For example the intro track, called "Poem Of Angels" is a completely stunning piece for starting a album. Great feelings packed in that melody, really one of my future favorites. Yet, there is something even better in this album. "Murakami" is not only an interesting name for a track, it’s much more than that. I think that this track will completely blow everyone out, clubs will get destroyed by a gigantic wave of emotions which this track brings. Trust me, your body will answer to it with shivers and a really massive amount of goosebumps. This track, is definitely one of my personal favorites for this year right now, and I’m sure it will rock every summer festival this year!
For the rest of the tracks, well, I think that Tritonal did this album with maximum enthusiasm, but unfortunately that is not everything you need to do a great album. There are just too many vocals on this album, I’m not saying that they are bad tracks, no they’re great! Just my personal feeling is that this album would be a complete bomb and a probable album of the year, only if there were more non-vocal tracks. Tritonal are showing their beautiful sound in tracks I’ve mentioned before, but that’s about it. A bit of a thumbs down in this.
Also, the track "Piercing Quiet", got a new interpretation thanks to Tritonal’s Album Mix. My opinion is that it’s a completely senseless new mix for a classic tune. It can barely be matched to "Original Mix" and the "Air Up There Remix" or even the "Chillout Mix".
To end this short review. I would like to thank guys from Tritonal, for putting so much emonitons and spending so much time with this album, it’s been worth it! Although it’s mostly a vocal album, it still remains to be a "must-buy" for me.

Because you made so many spelling errors and sentence fragments, I almost dont take the critisism as harsh as i could in this review about a very respectable trance duo like Tritonal. Tritonal has only featured the vocal artist Cristina Soto until this album, besides a few tracks left uncredited with male vocals, but what you’re saying is that you dont favor towards tracks with vocals. I agree and disagree, i think alot of trance fans arent just fans of trance, they look for specific styles and sounds in the music, and what Tritonal is most notable for as a trance duo is their hybrid tracks with Cristina Soto. This could be a reason why they chose to collaborate with many beautiful vocals on their tracks this time around. I dont want to be too quick to judge what forthcoming beauty this pre-released album holds just yet, i think another few reviews are deserved after the release. Love you Tritonal,
Tommy
Dear Tommy,
Actually, I do favor vocal trance tracks, I really do and as I wrote before, I love Cristina’s voice. And I’m not being harsh towards this album as U may think. Have you heard the previews? Those tracks are stunning, I just find it a bit sad, that someone who can create epic non-vocal tracks like “Murakami”, “Essence Of Kea” or “Audio Rush”, creates more than 70% tracks on this album in a vocal way. This review also says who will love this album and who won’t (in my opinion), if you will, then enjoy it! We all have different tastes for music.
Cheers!
this guys are such jerks, something new standing as one off the best songs the one who created the most hype and this jerks for some reason hate the only vocalist they wont mention on this interview jenryR..SUCH low grade:) off people.
talk about uncredited with male vocals, not cool from tritonal ,tritonal is good for that.
