Giuseppe Ottaviani – GO!

Giuseppe Ottaviani – GO!

Italian trance mastermind Giuseppe Ottaviani recently released his debut muse – ‘GO!‘ When it comes to hooking the listeners with a fair play of strictly-trance-styled synths and a classical know-how of rhythms, Giuseppe’s music has the spirit to prove it. We may already know his Nu NRG sounds and productions like "Linking People" and "Until Monday", but ‘GO!‘ escalates his talented music mastery to different heights.

After the CDs innumerable revolutions in our CD ROMs, we’re not complaining any album monotony, or using any "critical" statements to review this album. Rather, we just take out our cars and try to find the motive behind ‘GO!

Here’s reporting an exclusive track-by-track lineage of personal interpretations.

"One Day"

A self-assuring play of warped chords with a surprising usage of drum sets in with the first track, showcasing the not-so-known side of Giuseppe’s style. The tune’s calming effect and an excellent ambiance sums up nothing more than a cherished listening experience. What a starter!

"Where I Want To Go"

This tune sounds high-spirited with the kicks coming in and carrying the similar mood of Track 1. Slightly uplifting in nature, the layered synths direct our listening senses to perfect magnitudes.

"Fallen" (feat. Faith)

Now when do you see Giuseppe producing vocal tracks? As a first of this album, it creates impressive aural placebos! With a funky progression of kicks and the haunting vocals of Faith aka Federica Sciamanna, the recurring reverbs would definitely cater to our listening testaments! It easily stands out as my personal best of the album.

"Sunward" (with Gate 4)

This one starts as a vocal teaser and finishes off in true Giuseppe style. Using vocals of Gate 4 (Fabrizio Fanelli), it certainly adds to the whole Vandit mood. The music here is rushy and has amazing capabilities to perfectly serve the dance floors.

"Third Dome"

One of the most talked about tunes of this album, we can easily feel why "Third Dome" reigns high on the listeners’ expectations. A tune with very high emotional arrangements and devastating equivalents in terms of kicks, this one is made to blow worldwide clubs.

"No More Alone" (feat. Stephen Pickup)

Even before this album was heard about, we must have hummed to this one in clubs or our homes. Vocal teasers by Stephen Pickup and Giuseppe’s euphoric trials in this one give "No More Alone" an anthem-ic status. The effect of this tune is such that it can lead to impromptu visions of an overcrowded arena and all you could witness is hands in the air, green lasers and Giuseppe performing. Nothing beyond it!

"White Empire"

Highly progressive sounds dominate the mood and charge up the ears with what we recognize as an array of pads. The break down too witnesses a silent inclusion of pads attuned with guitars and a driving bass line. Build some pacy synths, some hard percs and you have a concrete "White Empire" built on your imagination.

"Thermopile"

"Thermopile" can give you an idea of a live performance and for a moment – break up your in-a-trance mood. Slightly techy tribal touch-ups to the music, we hear a rich variety of percs in this one.

"Unplugged"

"Unplugged" surmounts as an electro monster, completely taking you off from the Disc’s "real" mood. But variety is what we want, and this one quite does it. Love how it completely gets minimal at certain points!

"Our Dimension" (with John O’Callaghan)

"Our Dimension" defines electronic harmony with a massive synth lead and slight tech involvements. John O’Callaghan, the Irish trance master, teams up with Giuseppe to feature this Disc’s perfect trancer. Top jocks take pride in involving this one in their sets. This is a perfect substitute to your energy drink, I believe!

"Silver Sand"

The catchy lead slowly enhances with every beat – but nothing different if you’re thinking Giuseppe. Melodic leads and teasing vocodes take us to the break down, and thereafter, the tune bursts in its full force. Consider this as one more anthem in a set, especially when you’re being overdosed with non-melodic tracks!

"Changing Ways" (feat. Francesco M.)

I’ve personally felt the amount of male vocal dosage coming from Vandit’s musical factory. It has this distinctive German male vocal feel. And Francesco Mecorio, the vocalist of this tune does sound truly "Vandit". Giuseppe supports it with his huge, and in-style melodic lead – pumping in a rich listening experience.

"Love Mission"

Second major collaboration of this album, we see two high-energy producers crafting "Love Mission". Keeping the kick and synth part aside, we feel this too embarks towards and anthem-ic status. However, the beautiful break down and a stunning piano follow-up quite sidelines it from previous tunes. This is emotional trance!

"Angel" (feat. Faith)

"Angel" is the winner in album, mostly so, because it draws the line between rest of the album with its comforting nature. Faith’s striking vocals directly seem to be coming out of her heart and the strings strum us to a pleasurable climax (of the album, of course).

Conclusion

A fine combination of melody, energy and vocals makes ‘GO!‘ a must-listen. As a part of our listening patterns, we lose our senses to distinguish between two tracks at some point of the album. But a "smooth as butter" mixing and well-suited placements of the tunes make sure we have an "experience" to talk about. Thank you, Giuseppe. This ‘GO!’es out as an essential in our collection!
