Take us through your mix for compilation ‘The Anthems Collected’ for F15teen years of Goodgreef

I basically tried to split my disc in 3 parts.

Part 1 is dedicated to brand new and exclusive tracks coming from new and upcoming artists. Just like I normally do when mixing compilations, I like to focus on exclusive ‘never heard before’ material that I sign to my label and give it to the compilation as probably the strongest and freshest part of my disc.

Part 2 was intended to be for classics. Since we are celebrating 15 years of Goodgreet I thought it would be nice to also show my personal highlights from the past years. Older tracks were remastered to give a better listening experience, and the more recent ones have been included under the form of mash-up for some extra spice.

Part 3 was just a collection of the most recent tracks the I personally like the most and support on my radio show.

What can we expect from your set at Goodgreef’s 15th Anniversary

Well that will be something special which I’ve never done before. It’s going to be a producer classics set and since my relation with Goodgreef starts quite a while ago I will definitely play some NU NRG music as well J

You have played for Goodgreef many a times, what makes Goodgreef such a formidable Trance music property in UK

Goodgreef is a legendary brand because it simply made legendary shows. Everytime I played for them it was a fantastic show and never had a bad party…and I did many, trust me. The fact that after so much time it’s running stranger than ever speaks for itself.

Tell us more about what you love about the UK apart from its trance music scene?

Love the club culture and actually love those dirty, smoky, bad smelling yet amazing underground clubs which is where it all began.

Could you tell us more on whats happening inside your studio at the moment?

Working on a new artist album with lots of very new and different material from what people is used to get from me. I’m over half way to be completed and I’m already excited to let people hear it, but sorry this time you’ll have to wait till the release date J

2015 has been a great year for trance music, do you agree? Do you think Trance will make it big again?

If I look back at all the shows I had this year I can easily agree and confirm that it was a pretty good year. Obviously music evolves and it’s constantly moving up and down so it’s hard to say if and when it will be a big deal again but that’s not the point. I think that it’s not really important what kind of music will take the mainstage spot at the future festivals, more important is that all genres will be there because everyone deserves to follow and to listen what its heart is looking for.

Is there a trance tune when you hear you think I wish I made that one?

Hahaha yeah many, really, but again the tune that “brought me here” is William Orbit – Adagio For Strings.

Any message for the fans?

I’ll see you there for my first ever, and possible the only one, producer classic set, you don’t wanna miss it J

Football and Cadbury chocolate, best in the world

Could you tell us more on whats happening inside your studio at the moment?

Working on a few side projects in different genres of music, and i just released a second collab on Armada records with my son Thomas Newson.

2015 has been a great year for trance music, do you agree? Do you think Trance will make it big again?

Don’t know if it’s gonna be as big as it ever was but a lot of music that’s produced in different genres nowadays is full of trance elements, so I think trance will be always a big inspiration source for new producers.

Is there a trance tune when you hear you think I wish I made that one?

LSG – NETHERWORLD!!!, Goosebumps all over my body AAAAAHHH

Any message for the fans?

Gonna be great to see you all at the GG event and otherwise somewhere else on the globe.

Take us through your mix for compilation ‘The Anthems Collected’ for F15teen years of Goodgreef

Well, it was a difficult task trying to narrow down the tracks for the compilation to start with as when I was asked to do the compilation so many memories of Goodgreef classic tracks came to mind. I started going partying at Goodgreef when I was just a teenager, before I started DJ’ing in clubs, so I have heard so many amazing tracks on the dancefloors of Goodgreef events. I started by thinking of the ones that had the most impact on me and where I knew that the clubbers who went to Goodgreef would instantly recognise and think ‘Yea, that’s a Goodgreef track’. With this in mind I also wanted to put some new tracks and some recent tracks which also carried the same GG vibe. So you can expect my mix is as how Goodgreef is, Techy, Trancey and god damn Driving!

What can we expect from your set at Goodgreef’s 15th Anniversary

My set at Goodgreef’s 15th Anniversary is going to be a 2010 classic set, as that is around the time I was now playing for Goodgreef regularly and was starting to play out more in the scene. 2010 was a great year for trance. You have the techy Ozcan, Sander type stuff also with the brand new Subculture style sound! So expect a unpredictable growing journey through one of Trance music’c best years! All done in my usual Liam Wilson style!

You have played for Goodgreef many a times, what makes Goodgreef such a formidable Trance music property in UK

The thing that has made Goodgreef one of the most iconic club brands in the UK and Europe is that they have always nurtured and supported the freshest talent. They have brought over the newest international acts before anyone else and introduced them to the Uk scene. They have proved themselves as a tastemaking brand not a follower. They also have pushed though their resident DJ’s right from warming up at the events to playing main time at not just Goodgreef events but festivals and big shows across the world!

Tell us more about what you love about the UK apart from its trance music scene?

I have grown up in the UK and love my home. It is where my family is and my roots are here. I wish we had better weather as I think that is all we are lacking. I love to spend time with my mrs Louise & my son Reon, just doing normal family stuff. At the moment we work all the time and music is a huge part of our lives so its very rare we get time to do anything other than work. There is probably a lot more of the UK I would be able to discover if I had the time haha…

Could you tell us more on whats happening inside your studio at the moment?

Right now in the studio I am just working on new projects. I have just finished a remix for Solarstone and also a remix for Giuseppe Ottaviani, which is out now. ‘Encore’ is the official Goodgreef 15 Years anniverasry Anthem and I have just remixed that. I have been touring in Australia and Ibiza so havent managed to get a real start on an original for like 2 months, I just have bits of ideas which I have started that need to be turned into tracks.

2015 has been a great year for trance music, do you agree? Do you think Trance will make it big again?

I think 2015 has been a great year for Trance. You have so many new producers coming through and pushing the sounds and also producers revisiting the older tech trance sounds. Its been a real brinstorming year for trance and I think its just a sign of things brewing. Trance is so popular across the globe and now the EDM craze is dying down you can see at the events that there is a new interst for Trance music. Over in Australia, Argentina and the US they have great scenes now, they are experiencing what we have had over in Europe for the past 20 years and the fans are so up for it! Its like a trance revolution has begun, and we are all going to be riding it!

Is there a trance tune when you hear you think I wish I made that one?

Yes, ‘Simon Patterson – Us’ …That track has everything you need in a trance track…its driving, really full of emotion and you will never forget it once you have heard it!

Any message for the fans?

Yes! Thank you for all the continued support in making my dream job a reality! I appreciate all support you give in buying my tracks, sharing my mixes and coming to my gigs! You are the best…I cant wait to come to play in all the countries requested. My management is on with it and will hopefully be in a city near you soon! Until then make sure you grab a copy of the brand new ‘Goodgreef 15 Year Anniversary’ Compilation mixed by myself, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Marco V! It’s a banger!

Thank You!
