Dash Berlin – A vocal trance delight
Pin It"I had an amazing time in India. My thanks goes out to all the people that came and partied with me, it was unforgettable. Hope to be back soon!" – Dash Berlin
September could easily be the biggest trance month Mumbai has ever witnessed. With the likes of John 00 Fleming, Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin and Gareth Emery hitting the city. Blue Frog officially became the second home for all the trance music lovers around the city.
Dash Berlin’s gig was preceded by Above & Beyond a day before so you’d expect a crowd who was blown away by A&B returning for another night of bliss. However there was a lot of excitement and expectations around this gig too. Dash Berlin has been producing some great music over the years, people were waiting to hear the emotions, vocals LIVE but as my first trance gig ever I was completely overwhelmed. It just seemed surreal!
NYU’N TUM’S opened the set and the crowd was already geared up as the duo set the right vibes and pulled the crowd to the floor. By the time they were done, every single person there was ready for the ‘Dash Berlin‘ experience.
And as soon as the countdown began, the excitement and anticipation rose high as Jeff appeared and began his EPIC set with one of his greatest track – "Never Cry Again".
That’s when I knew for sure I won’t leave disappointed. He continued dropping amazing progressive choons that kept our energy going. His set included "Till the Sky Falls Down" (thrice), "Man On The Run" (twice), "Wired", "Janeiro" and "Waiting" without which it would’ve felt incomplete. Though I’m not a fan of repeat tracks in a set but every version has something special about it and me couldn’t be complaining. :)
He also played Max Graham’s "Nothing Else Matters" which gave me the goose-bumps. We went crazy when he played Faithless – Not Going Home and Armin van Buuren – Not Giving Up On Love featuring Sophie Ellis Bextor. He continued with his insane beats and kept us on our feet for 4 long hours. But the track that stole the night for me and almost made me cry was "Till the Sky Falls Down vs. The Sound Of Goodbye". It was totally unexpected and truly a remarkable way to end his set.
It was incredible to see his energy on stage, his frantic movements and when he left the decks and waved his hands to get the crowd going it was totally envious, he definitely keeps the crowd alive and kicking throughout his set, totally unexpected from his music which is so laid back and emotional. He surely knows how to make the crowd dance. It wouldn’t be possible for me to rate this gig. All I can say is I had an immensely AWESOME experience and would remember it for a really long time to come. I know this for sure because I’m still hung over on it. Huge thanks to Dash Berlin for this incredible night… Love You!
