Ashley Wallbridge – the Dance Industry

The weekend before Sunburn, and Mumbai experienced Mr. Wicked Beats himself, Ashley Wallbridge at the Blue Frog, and it could be hailed as one of the best ways to end 2010 for trance lovers.

Let’s not forget the beautiful opening set by Goa resident Anish Sood, who opened with the gorgeous "Stan Kolev – Farewell". Anish’s opening set had a superb vibe, and had everyone dancing and enjoying his set. He set the tone, for what probably was going to be a seriously energetic, "Hands In The Air" night. Anish closed his set with the epic club mix of "Sunlounger & Zara Taylor – Lost", and by this time, everyone was already beginning to lose the plot.

By this time, the energy was high, and everyone waited. And Ashley took to the decks, and opened with his MASSIVE remix of "Gareth Emery & Brute Force – Arrival". This itself, was the beginning of an absolutely epic night. Ashley played his remixes of tracks like "Forgive Me, Forget You", "She Moves", "Aisha", a superb mashup of Markus Schulz’ "Surreal" and his own track, "Smoke", along with another mashup of "Faces" and "Good Dream". He even played monster tracks like Cosmic Gate’s "Back 2 Earth (Arty Remix)", which had people screaming, shouting, jumping and dancing their hearts out. We even got to hear the Laidback Luke remix of "Out Of The Blue" which was absolutely a super treat for us. By this time, the energy was at an all time high, and we suddenly were surprised with Gareth Emery’s "Global" and Ashley & Elleah’s "Walk On Water". Another legendary mashup played was "Lethal Stadium Four" which had more than enough people yelling and going absolutely crazy in a hot, and sweaty ".

To end the night, Ashley played his monster hit, "Chimera", and we had all reached breaking point.

Ashley’s energy and his stage presence was fantastic, and we all had one of those epic nights, whereby you just want to smile. It’s one of those nights you’re going to remember for a long time, and truly, this was a brilliant way to end the "gigging" year of 2010. Props to MuzicMatters and The Blue Frog for an absolutely fantastic way to end 2010! "Our very own Lost Stories were meant to close, unfortunately, the Mumbai Cops decided to shut us down early, and that meant Lost Stories couldn’t play, which was a huge disappointment, as many of us wanted to see them live at the Frog. hopefully, there will be a next time for them!".
