Next week, the world’s finest DJs will be returning to Sin City for one of the most anticipated summer music festivals in the country, the Electric Daisy Carnival. Spanning over the weekend of June 19-21, attendees will get to enjoy a weekend of the best EDM today, including the legendary Armin Van Buuren. The number one trance DJ in the world was also included in the lineup for EDC NY along with industry notables Kaskade, Tiesto and Calvin Harris, and has just wrapped up one of his most ambitious trance tours yet, in India. He is set to perform on the EDC Las Vegas stage on Saturday, June 20.
A day before his EDC gig, Armin will be spinning in one of most promising clubs in Las Vegas. A few months back, the trance DJ announced that he would be taking up a residency at the brand new Omnia Nightclub in Caesar’s Palace, his first night at the club being on March 27th. His last Omnia show will take place on the 26th of this month.
Omnia is the latest of Las Vegas nightclubs to partner with world-renowned DJs, a successful strategy in boosting revenue in the non-gaming segment of casino hotels. Although a huge portion of their profits still come from the casino floors, operators of land-based facilities are still in a power struggle with online portals that have been gaining momentum in the gambling industry. Online casinos are consistently being invested in and receive amazing returns, with online betting exchange Betfair being a prime example as they recently returned £200 million to their shareholders through a special dividend.
Instead of purely focusing on gaming like their online counterparts, casino operators have used the appeal of the Las Vegas party scene to entice a wider spectrum of clientele. Some of the world’s most luxurious and celebrity-attended clubs can now be found in Las Vegas, and thanks to Armin’s new residency at Omnia, Sin City will continue to see hordes of EDM fans hopping from club to club on the Strip.
